My name is Jimmy, and I love how this competition uniquely allows me to combine two of my favorite things -- music and Chinese. I was born and raised in Utah, where I grew up loving video editing, gymnastics, having fun with friends and family, and all things music -- I play the piano, drums, trombone, and just started taking violin lessons (it's never too late to start, right?), which I LOVE. I learned how to speak Mandarin by serving a 2-year mission for the LDSChurch in a Chinese-speaking area of Melbourne, Australia, and later lived in China for a year to study and work abroad. I now work as a computer programmer in Arizona, and I love to laugh and have fun. Life is good! Thank you for this opportunity!I actually didn't know about the singing competition and stumbled upon it by accident because I heard one of my idols, Jason Chen, was doing a meet-and-greet. I had just finished running a race when I got there, so at the last minute, I entered the competition and had to sing in my running clothes -- it was pretty hilarious, but I'm so glad it happened! It's a privilege to be a part of Top Idol, and it was an honor to meet Jason -- let's do a song together someday!
